Pathways

CISE is here to support and learn from individuals who are ready to work but need some extra support to become fully prepared for a specific role.

At CISE, we’re here to support individuals who are eager to work but may need a bit of extra help to feel fully ready for a specific role. Our Job Readiness Program helps bridge the gap between where you are now and where you want to be. We tackle any barriers you might face, helping you build skills and confidence for both work and community involvement. It's all about setting you up for long-term success and engagement.

A participants idea and learning styles will differ. That’s why our Employment Pathways and Community Engagement Programs are co-designed.  We also offer personal development support to help you feel confident and prepared before you take your first step toward employment or community participation.

Discovery Program

Post- it notes

The Discovery Program is about co-creating a vision for your future. We work with you to explore your goals and dreams. You can include your friends and family for extra support.

Together, we’ll build a clear map of what you want to achieve, and how to get there. This plan will help guide your journey, whether it's toward employment or getting more involved in your community.

The Discovery Process is flexible—you can work one-on-one or in small groups. We use conversations, activities, and visual tools to create a plan that reflects your hopes. This can also tie into the Personalised Budgets “Vision Building” process.

"Gifted" Programme

The “Gifted” activity focuses on developing your specific talents and interests. Whether you're looking for employment or a meaningful role in your community, this program helps you turn your interest into something more.

For example: John loves drawing and creates unique illustrations that catch the attention of local artists. He’s interested in developing a line of greeting cards for special occasions. With the help of his local support circle and a community connector, John creates some prototypes. He then starts selling them at a market and local café. As his cards sell, he receives feedback and support from his community, helping him kickstart his employment journey.

In the Gifted process  you can pursue your interests through social enterprises at CISE, start your own small business, or develop a meaningful role in your community. It’s all about connecting you, your interests, and your community. This process encourages collaboration and helps create stronger community ties.

This program supports those ready to engage with work or community roles. Whether it's through a local startup or a supported employment partner, the focus is on building a lasting employment opportunity.

The following stages outline the Pathways process:

  1. Identifying the support you need :  We identify what will help you succeed. This may include training or job site visits . You will get the opportunities to develop the skills and experience you need.

  2. Engaging in your role: Whether it’s a job placement, community role, or small business, you’ll get hands-on experience.

  3. Applying for any accommodations: We can help you access any support or subsidies you might need.

  4. Building a plan for employment:  Together, we’ll work on a sustainable employment plan.

At CISE, we believe everyone deserves meaningful work or a Community role. We are committed to supporting you in finding a role that’s fulfilling and sustainable. An inclusive workplace helps build stronger, more resilient communities, and we’re here to help co-design your part of it.
